TURLOCK HIGH SCHOOL DANCE RULES (Winter Formal and Prom)
- All school regulations will be strictly enforced. No smoking, alcoholic beverages, or drugs are allowed at any dances.
- Students or guests who appear to have been drinking or using drugs will be checked by Turlock Police officers with a device that detects the presence of alcohol.
- Students and guests must follow standards expected of THS students in their dancing, language, behavior, and must strictly adhere to the Formal dress regulations. APPROPRIATE FORMAL ATTIRE IS REQUIRED! (See page 33 of the THS Student Handbook)
- It is highly recommended that all guests be 19 years of age or younger. If the guest is over 19 years old, Turlock High School must obtain prior parental permission from the parent of the THS student in addition to the necessary form available from the Administration.
- Good behavior and cooperation with guests and host/hostess is required. Unacceptable behavior will result in individual(s) being requested to leave and will be subject to disciplinary action.
- Students and guests will not be allowed to enter a dance after it has been in progress for two hours and students who leave a dance, except in an emergency, may not re-enter.
- Non-THS guests will not be admitted unless accompanied by the THS student nor without a picture ID. High School students must bring their school ID card. Guests in college, out of school, or in the military may use a CA picture ID, Military picture ID or driver's license.
- No junior high or elementary students will be allowed. No guests or students from a continuation school, community school, or independent study program (other than Roselawn or Freedom) outside the Turlock district will be admitted. John B. Allard is a county school and is not a part of the TUSD.
- Inappropriate dancing such as freaking, bumping, and grinding WILL NOT be tolerated; students will be subject to removal after the initial warning.
- APPROPRIATE FORMAL ATTIRE IS REQUIRED! (See page 33 of the THS Student Handbook)
Males: Collared dress shirt, sport coat and slacks or tuxedo, dress shoes/boots.
Unacceptable: Costumes of any sort, women's clothing, denim, tennis shoes.
Females: Formal dress, dress shoes.
Unacceptable: Costumes of any sort, pants, denim, tennis shoes, dresses that are too revealing, see through, extremely short, exposed midriff or have slits too high.
This is a voluntary activity! Students and/or guests who arrive in attire deemed to be unacceptable will not be allowed entry!!
