San Joaquin Engineers Council Scholarship
San Joaquin Engineers Council is pleased to announce that the application for the 2014-15 San Joaquin Engineers Council (SJEC) scholarship can now be downloaded from their website at www.sjec.ca.org .
SJEC represents several engineering organizations who work together to promote and celebrate engineering. Each year, member organizations, businesses, and individuals contribute generously to the SJEC scholarship fund. Last year, scholarships $1500 each were awarded to 8 deserving students.
Completed scholarship applications must be postmarked by Saturday, January 10, 2015. Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and selected students will be contacted by February 14, 2015. Scholarship recipients will be invited to accept their award during the Annual SJEC Engineers Week Banquet on February 26, 2015.
Belkorp Ag and John Deere Scholarship
Belkorp Ag and John Deere has partnered with FFA to sponsor four $2,000 scholarships to four local high schools. The high schools selected were Merced High School, Stanislaus High School, Turlock High School and Patterson High School. Valley Builders Exchange Scholarship Program
Valley Builders Exchange has a scholarship program for the benefit of the children or employees of Exchange members to help further their education. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the Scholarship Committee, based upon dollars available in the Scholarship Fund. For more information, please pick up an application in the counseling office or at Valley Builders Exchange, 1118 Kansas Avenue, Modesto.

2015 Horatio Alger Scholarship
The Horation Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society.

California Wine Grape Growers Foundation Scholarship
At least two four-year scholarships worth $8,000 each and four two-year scholarships worth $2,000 each will be awarded to qualifying students in 2015. Students may study the subject of their choice at any campus within the University of California system, California State University system or California Community College system.
Applications may be found at www.cwggf.org The deadline for applications is March 31, 2015.
National scholarships are announced in the Daily Bulletin and posted on the school website on a weekly basis. Hard copies of paper applications are placed in a file box in the Counseling Office outside Mrs. Peterson’s office. There are also many scholarship search engines available online and most colleges and universities have separate scholarship applications. Beware of scholarship scams! See your counselor if you have any questions about a questionable scholarship opportunity.
Thousands of dollars from local clubs, community organizations, and private donors are given each year to THS seniors. Interested students need to complete an online scholarship application in January (information is mailed home). Scholarship recipients and their parents/guests are honored at Senior Awards Night in May at the Assyrian-American Civic Club that includes a hosted dinner.
