UC Testing Requirements

Freshmen applicants to the University of California must submit the following test scores:

  • The ACT Assessment plus Writing or the SAT Reasoning Test.  The verbal, mathematics and writing scores on the SAT must be from the same sitting.  Students who take the ACT must report each test score and composite score.
  •  The SAT Subject Tests are not required, however, some majors do recommend students take these exams.  Please consult with your counselor for more information.

Students applying for admission to the fall term must take tests no later than December of their senior year, preferably earlier, to ensure that their application receives prompt and full consideration.  Paper applications are available in the Counseling Office or students may register online at www.collegeboard.com or www.actstudent.org.

CSU Testing Requirements

Freshmen applicants to a California State University may submit scores from either the ACT Assessment or SAT Reasoning Test.  The CSU system will take the highest scores from multiple sittings.  The SAT Subject Tests are not required.
