Community Service DOES count when it comes to college admissions.  Many colleges offer scholarships for students actively involved in community service.   In addition, organizations, and businesses across the nation are recognizing the importance of service to the community by offering awards and scholarships for service.  See below for local community service opportunities.

THS 2007 Relay for Life Team

Relay for Life .... A Team Event to Fight Cancer

Relay for Life is a 24-hour, fun-filled, noncompetitive, overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society.  During the event, teams of people gather at schools, sports fields, or parks and take turns walking or running laps.  Each team keeps at least one team member on the track at all times.
