Work Experience
Junior and Senior students who are at least 16 years old are eligible to obtain up to 10 credits each semester for regular employment in jobs outside of school. Students interested in obtaining credit through their employment should contact their counselor. State Law also requires that all Work Experience students attend a mandatory meeting each week with their Work Experience teacher. This meeting is held on campus during "A" period.
Work Permits
To obtain a work permit, a student must be on-track for graduation as defined by the District (see chart below). "On-track" means a student has accumulated enough credits to remain on schedule for graduation as determined by the THS "on-track-to-graduate chart" (below). This regulation also applies to students who transfer into THS from other districts. Additionally, students must have earned a 2.0 GPA during the previous grading period. Habitual irregular attendance may result in the loss of a work permit:
| Grade Level | End of 1st Semester | End of 2nd Semester |
| 9th | 25 credits | 50 credits |
| 9th | 80 credits | 110 credits |
| 9th | 140 credits | 170 credits |
| 12th | 200 credits | 230 credits |
Students who are issued a work permit or scheduled into Work Experience Education or ROP Co-Op will be evaluated at the end of each semester to determine continuing eligibility.
